Sometimes when people are troubled or they’re having a really hard time in their lives or they’re feeling depressed and anxious, they need to work with a competent therapist. What’s wonderful about therapy is it allows you to have a skilled clinician listen without judging so that you can feel safe and at ease to discuss whatever issue comes up. I can help you figure out a plan for yourself to feel better.

My specialty is working with parents and children to make life in the family easier and calmer. If your child is misbehaving, I can help you figure out what to do. The fifteen years I’ve spent working with families has equipped me with a multitude of good ideas for parenting to make it a whole lot simpler. I believe that parents love their children but sometimes do not have enough tools to deal with the enormous challenge of parenting children in today’s world. I also encourage and work with parents in taking care of themselves, leading to more relaxed, effective, and happy parents and children.

Sometimes people are confused and are upset by something traumatic that happened to them in the past. The distress can impact them even though the event happened years ago or sometimes it can seem like the memory wasn’t really that traumatic but it continues to bother them today. The memory of a traumatic event can lead to self defeating behavior and low self-esteem. That’s when EMDR can be extraordinarily helpful in the healing process. EMDR can change your life in just a few sessions by helping you not think negatively about yourself if something bad has happened to you. It takes away the sting in the trauma but it doesn’t take the memory away.
